Controlled release fertiliser

Basacote is a coated granular fertilizer where each granule carries a complete NPK plus micronutrient feed inside a controlled-release shell. One application feeds for months, but the mechanism is the point: this is controlled release, not slow release. A slow release fertilizer leaks nutrients on its own fixed curve whether the plant is feeding or not. Controlled release means nutrient availability tracks the plant’s own uptake, so the plant takes what it needs when it feeds, and less is wasted to leaching in between.

That makes Basacote the low-effort option for two very different buyers: hobby growers who want to feed a pot once and forget it for months, and nurseries or orchard growers who want a season-long base feed without repeat labour.
